FAIR AMBASSADOR’S MESSAGE

I am Kalli McCowan and I am the 2022-2023 Ambassador of the
Clinton Spring Fair! I am so thankful to have been given the
opportunity to represent the Clinton Fair and the Huron Central
Agricultural Society this year. The Clinton Spring Fair has always
had a special place in my heart, just like many others. The way the
Clinton Fair brings people of all ages in the community together is
so touching. I know so many people, myself included, who grew
up going to the Clinton Fair with family and friends because you
couldn’t miss the Demolition Derby or because you really wanted
to play the fair games or because you had to go on the all of the
rides. So many people have been impacted and have made so many
memories from attending the Clinton Fair and that is why it was so
important for me to get involved. I wanted to learn more,
volunteer, and even become the Clinton Spring Fair Ambassador
so I could be a part of bringing the community together while also
informing others about Canadian agriculture.

It is so important to me that I have been given the opportunity to
promote and educate the public on Canadian agriculture while
bringing rural and urban communities together. The ambassador
program is such an important tradition to keep youth involved in
their local fair and agricultural society. I have learned so much
from being this year’s fair ambassador. I have improved my
personal skills that will stick with me for the rest of my life, such
as public speaking, as well as becoming more confident and
outgoing. While at the OAAS Convention, I was able to go to
seminars that taught me more about the ambassador program and
what agricultural societies do for their communities. I am so
excited to attend the CNE this August where I will be able to
further develop my skills and learn more about what it means to be an ambassador.

Throughout my role as the Clinton Spring Fair Ambassador so far,
I have loved meeting so many people. I was able to meet the other
fair ambassadors at the OASS Convention in February, including
my fellow District 8 fair ambassadors. It was so nice meeting the
other ambassadors and I can’t wait to see them again at the CNE
where I will be competing to be the Ambassador of the CNE. I also
met so many lovely people at the ambassador competition in
Clinton and then met so many more incredible people at the
Clinton Spring Fair the following weekend. The people are truly
the best part of this experience and the Clinton Spring Fair would
not be here without you, whether you are behind the scenes or
someone who attends the fair.

I am so thankful to be the Clinton Spring Fair Ambassador this
year and I have enjoyed the opportunities that I have experienced
through the ambassador program so far. I am also so excited for
what is to come in the rest of my role as the Clinton Spring Fair
Ambassador. I hope to see you all at this year’s Clinton Spring
Fair!

We want to acknowledge your generous donations.
